Kevin Coppelson, DDS, MD

Driven by a fascination with the complex intersection of form, function, and health in the facial region, Dr. Kevin Coppelson was drawn to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. In the unique blend of medicine, dentistry, and surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery allows him to address intricate issues that enhance the quality of life for his patients. Dr. Coppelson particularly enjoys performing dental implant procedures, as they not only restore function and aesthetics but also boost his patients’ confidence and self-esteem.

After completing a fellowship in advanced maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Coppelson joined Greater Ventura Oral & Facial Surgery Dental Implant Experts, bringing a focus on integrating his expertise in treating sleep-related breathing disorders with the latest surgical techniques to Drs. Siavash and Zarrinkelk’s well-established practice. Together, they expanded the practice to Westlake Village.

Dr. Coppelson understands that surgery can be a daunting experience, which is why he emphasizes clear communication and compassionate care. He takes the time to explain the details of every procedure, address any concerns, and answer all questions to ensure his patients feel informed and at ease.

Education & residency

Dr. Coppelson began his career as an undergraduate student at UCLA, graduating with a degree in political science and anthropology in 2007. He then attended USC to complete his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 2011. Dr. Coppelson moved back east to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Maryland, which he completed in 2015. He then engaged in an advanced maxillofacial surgery program before conducting his own research and establishing the BreatheMAX department at The Breathing Institute in Los Angeles.

Outside the office

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Coppelson is heavily involved in research, particularly focusing on corrective jaw surgery and sleep-related breathing disorders. He is also an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying basketball and tennis as a way to stay fit, clear his mind, and engage in friendly competition. Additionally, he is a passionate hiker who loves exploring the scenic trails of Southern California.
